This beautiful rose quartz point has been completed with Labradorite and Amethyst and is truly a unique piece.  It was created by first sculpting with clay, and electroforming for a copper finish.  It was then hand painted with alcohol ink to give a beautiful rainbow patina.  Please note that excessive rubbing or washing may cause the colors to fade.  To preserve the color, please remove before applying lotions, make-up and perfume.  Remove before bathing or swimming as well, and keep dry at all times.  All metals are lead-free and nickel free, and guaranteed for life.  I hope you treasure this piece for many years to come!

Rose Quartz

Pink specimens of the mineral quartz are given the name Rose Quartz. It is abundant, common, and found in large quantities at numerous locations around the world. It is usually occurring as massive, anhedral occurrences in hydrothermal veins and pegmatites.

The pink color of rose quartz is attributed to microscopic inclusions of a pink variety of the mineral dumortierite. These inclusions are usually abundant enough to make the rose quartz translucent instead of transparent.

Labradorite

This is a feldspar mineral of the plagioclase series that is most often found in mafic igneous rocks such as basalt, gabbro, and norite. It is also found in anorthosite, an igneous rock in which labradorite can be the most abundant mineral.

The colors displayed are not from the surface of a specimen. Instead, light enters the stone, strikes a twinning surface within the stone, and reflects from it. The color seen by the observer is the color of light reflected from that twinning surface.

Amethyst

Amethyst is a purple variety of quartz.  It is popular because of its deep colors and distinct characteristics. These crystals grow slowly, and the composition of the waters from which they grow can change over time. As the composition of the water changes, varying amounts of iron are incorporated into the surface of the crystal. Later, radiation emitted by minerals in the surrounding rock modify the iron to produce the purple color. This can cause the crystal to have zones of different color intensity. Each of these zones records a time interval in the growth of the crystal like the growth rings of a tree.
